“The value of music is not dazzling yourself and others with technique; it is to be able to play one note at the right time and the right way.” —Herbie Hancock

  • “As a musician, Brad’s skills span a diverse range of culture, tradition, style and application, from traditional jazz and funk, to contemporary and experimental music. Brad always plays with an amazing display of virtuosity no matter what the performance format.”  —Jerry Leake, Faculty Member, New England Conservatory of Music
  • “The New England Conservatory Jazz Ensemble always sends a good band to the Panama Jazz Festival, but this year’s musicians were unusually good, and the day’s outstanding performance, both to this reporter and according to audience reaction, was by Brad Barrett on the bass.”  —Eric Jackson, The Panama News, January 2010
  • “Brad has the expertise and passion to guide any musician through lessons or groom them for scholarship auditions. Having been awarded three musical scholarships himself, he knows how to structure programs that motivate, stimulate, and expand anyone’s musical possibilities.”  —Patrick Moulds, Bassist, Santa Fe Opera
